Legislation has been submitted for consdieration but has not yet been referred by Steering
referred Legislation has been referred to a standing committee for consideration. Legislation may be in committee for two meetings (with a possible two meeting extension). Any legislation not reported out at that time is considered dead.
reported Legislation has been reported out of committee to the Floor for debate. Legislation takes two readings before final passage. Legislation may remain on the Floor indefinetly.
tabled Consideration of legislation has been postponed. Committees may only postpone for two weeks (with a possible two week extension). Legislation on the Floor may be tabled indefinetly.
passed A Resolution or Senate Bill has passed the Senate and is now awaiting BOD action. Senate Bills require BOD action, while Resolutions become binding if the BOD takes no action within two BOD meetings.
resolved Resolution is binding upon the Association. Either the Resolution has been passed by the Senate and approved by the BOD, passed by the Senate and two BOD meetings have transpired with no BOD action, or the BOD has resurected a Resolution previously failed by Senate.
enacted The Senate Bill or Organic Act has been approved. In the case of a Senate Bill, both the Senate and the BOD have approved its enactment. Organic Acts only require the approval of Senate.
failed The legislation has been failed either in committee or on the Floor of the Senate.
BOD veto The legislation has been vetoed by 2/3rds of the voting membership of the Board of Directors. Only Resolutions of Student Opinion are subject to BOD Veto.
no action The legislation has failed to either be enacted or resolved before the end of the session, however it has not be failed by a committee, the Senate, or veoted by the BOD.
