Associated Students of the University of Washington
Student Senate
Session 9

A Resolution in support of the troops of the U.S. armed forces.

WHEREAS a significant portion of Americans are in the active and reserve branches of the United States military, and

WHEREAS the dedication and sacrifice of American armed force members must be distinguished from the act of being at war itself, and

WHEREAS many students attending the University of Washington are members of the armed forces or have relation to members of the armed forces, and

WHEREAS these fellow Americans are entrusted with the duty to defend the lives of all Americans, and

WHEREAS each and every one of the armed forces members are entrusted as being willing to die to protect our livelihood.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT the students of the University of Washington appreciate the sacrifices that members of the American armed force make, and

THAT the ASUW does recognized the distinction of supporting our nation's armed forces from supporting or opposing current U.S. military actions.
