Senate Bill to Add More Seats

WHEREAS, the Senate would represent students better if it were more reflective of the student population as a whole, and;

WHEREAS, only twelve seats (10% of senate seats) allocated to commuter students are to represent a vast majority of students at the University of Washington.

BE IT RECOMMENDED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON STUDENT SENATE:

THAT, the word 'Twelve' be struck and the word 'Twenty' be inserted in its place in Art III, Sec 1, Subsection A, Clause 6 of the ASUW Student Senate Bylaws.

THAT, this Bill take effect on January 1, 2002, or upon ratification by the Board of Directors, whichever is later.
