Creation of the Annual Publication Task Force Whereas, the University of Washington has not had a yearbook of any kind since the end of the 1970s, and; Whereas, the graduates of the University of Washington have no convenient way of acquiring a collection of pictures and written word describing the campus during their time spent here, and; Whereas, the University of Washington had such a year book named the TYEE that was operated by The Daily but was eventually cut due to budget concerns, and; Whereas, the University of Washington community would benefit from a yearly publication dedicated to chronicling the events of campus, BE IT RECOMMENDED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON STUDENT SENATE: That, a task-force chaired by the Director of Organizational Relations be assembled to research the possibility of producing a yearly publication chronicling the events of campus, and That, in addition to the Director of Organizational Relations the task-force should include a member from the Finance & Budget Committee, a Senate representative, and members from the Greek Community, the Residence Halls, Commuters, and as many additional RSOs as is reasonable. That, the task-force be known as the Annual Publication Task Force That, the task-force look into new distribution technologies like CDs to cut costs while simultaneously expanding the breadth of content, and That, the task-force produce a recommendation by the end of the 2002 Fall quarter to be presented to both the Senate and Board of Directors for review, and That, upon a favorable recommendation by the task-force and a concurrence by the Student Senate, the Board of Directors adopt the proposed plan to create such a yearly publication.
