An Act to Amend the Legisative Agenda addressing the Student Regent

WHEREAS the Student Regent position is a one year gubernatorial appointment, and

WHEREAS the Student Regent position is the students' voice on the Board of Regents, and

WHEREAS there is currently a bill in the Senate regarding the length of the term for the Student Regent, and

WHEREAS the students are concerned with the current lack of accountability of the Student Regent to the students.

BE IT RECOMMENDED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON STUDENT SENATE:

THAT the ASUW add to their legislative that the ASUW supports legislation that makes the Student Regent more effective and accountable to students.
