A Resolution Opposing Racism

WHEREAS: Since the tragedy on September 11th of 2001 prejudices against Muslim Americans have manifested themselves in displays of racism nationwide, and

WHEREAS: The University of Washington is home to a diverse body of students, including Muslim Americans, and

WHEREAS: Such racism is detrimental to an inclusive campus community,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT: the students of the University of Washington are opposed to all displays of racism, and

THAT: all students, regardless of race, religion, or creed are welcome at the University of Washington.
