A Resolution Directing the Administration to Enforce the Current Policy Regarding Advertising in Classrooms

Whereas: The University of Washingtonās primary purpose is to educate students, and

Whereas: classrooms are one of the primary locations to satisfy this purpose, and

Whereas: according to the Washington Administraitive Code (WAC) 478-136-030 (3) "University facilities may not be used for private or commercial purpose such as sales, advertising, or promotional activities unless such activities serve an educational purpose, as determined by the committee on the use of unversity facilities."

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

That: The ASUW supports the enforcement of WAC 478-136-030 (3), and

That: The ASUW encourages all building administrators to promptly remove any such advertising.
