Resolution Calling for the President to Cancel Classes due to Snow

WHEREAS, a vast majority of students at the University of Washington are commuter students, and;

WHEREAS, many students live outside the immediate U-District area, and;

WHEREAS, road conditions for Western Washington are extremely hazardous when snow falls, and;

WHEREAS, many classes end up being canceled on snow days, but commuter students may have already commuted to campus after the fact.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT, the President of the University of Washington to cancel classes on snow days, if in his or her judgment that commuting to campus would especially be hazardous, and;

THAT, the President of the University of Washington consider commuter routes in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties.
