Resolution in Support of Student Rose Bowl Attendance

WHEREAS, Husky Football is an integral part of the University of Washington and,

WHEREAS, Husky Football is an integral part of student life and,

WHEREAS, being the Pac-10 representative in the Rose Bowl is the team goal every year and,

WHEREAS, the Huskies are playing in the 2001 Rose Bowl and,

WHEREAS, it has been eight long years since the Huskies last appeared in the Rose Bowl and,

WHEREAS, it is an overdue opportunity for students of the University to attend the Rose Bowl in order to cheer the Huskies on to victory and,

WHEREAS, the Rose Bowl is on January 1st, 2001 in Pasadena, California and,

WHEREAS, winter quarter begins January 2nd, 2001 and,

WHEREAS, Pasadena is a 30 hour drive from Seattle and,

WHEREAS, many departments drop students that do not attend the first day of class

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT, neither teachers nor departments shall be able to drop students from classes for not attending class on January 2, 2001.
