A Resolution Calling on Police to Reduce Arms

WHEREAS, The University of Washington Police Department has purchased ten (10) AR-15 assault rifles.

WHEREAS, The Universtiy of Washington Police Department is currently outfitted with sidearms and patrol car shotguns.

WHEREAS, The University of Washington Police Department has not needed to use deadly force in a campus operation in recent history.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT, The University of Washington Police Department reverse their decision to employ the use of the AR-15 assault rifle on the University of Washington, Seattle campus.
