A Resolution Commending the American Red Cross Club at UW WHEREAS the American Red Cross Club at the University of Washington immediately mobilized after the devastating earthquake in Haiti; and, WHEREAS the club established two donation booths at both the HUB Lawn and Red Square; and, WHEREAS they held a consistent presence from Friday January 15 to Friday, January 22; and, WHEREAS volunteers committed 9 hours every school day to fund raising; and, WHEREAS they raised over $5,000 for Haiti relief and recovery; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON: THAT the ASUW formally recognizes and commends the American Red Cross Club at UW for their service and relentless pursuit of support for Haitians in need; and, THAT the ASUW encourages students to donate either time or money to the American Red Cross Club at UW to assist in their efforts; and, THAT a copy of this legislation be forwarded to the American Red Cross Club at UW.
