A Resolution for University Sponsered Assistance in Transportation for University of Washington Students to the Airport

WHEREAS close to 10,000 students, Graduate and Undergraduate, attend the University of Washington who live out of state.

WHEREAS the University of Washington is 18 miles away from Sea Tac International Airport.

WHEREAS most college students do not have much excess finance, and cannot afford to or don't want to pay upwards of $25 for a taxi, shuttle or town car.

WHEREAS trips to and from Sea Tac International Airport on the King County Metro bus system can last upwards of an hour and a half, require transfers, and are difficult to manage while carrying necessary luggage.

WHEREAS during scheduled academic breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break), many University of Washington students will need transportation to Sea Tac International Airport at the same time.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT the University of Washington provide to its students a free shuttle service to and from Sea Tac International Airport.
