A Resolution to Commend the ASUW Student Senate Officers of the 14th Regular Session for Exemplary Service

Whereas, the Student Senate is the official opinion making body of the Associated Students of the University of Washington, and

Whereas, for the Senate to maintain a certain level of professionalism and effectiveness, order must be preserved, and

Whereas, the Senate Officers have consistently provided and upheld an environment that has promoted, and is open to all sides of debate even in situations of great division, and

Whereas, the Senate Officers of this year have gone above and beyond what is required of them as outlined in the Bylaws, and

Whereas with the leadership of the Senate Officers, Senate was able to productively manage over 35 pieces of legislation, and

Whereas it is necessary for students to have a forum in which they may, "Participate in the Democratic Conversation,"

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT, the ASUW express their gratitude for the Senate Chair: Shawn Fisher, Vice Chair: Sameer Kanal, Secretary: Gerald Corporal, Membership Coordinator Jon Solomon, Advisor: Rene Singleton, and commend them for their dedication and hard work, and

THAT, the Senate officers for this year should be used as a model for those of the coming year.
