A Resolution in Support of More Baby Changing Stations

WHEREAS, many University students, staff, and faculty as well as visiting guests have children; and

WHEREAS, every person on campus deserves the amenities necessary to ensure comfort, convience, and ease in academic success; and

WHEREAS, the University of Washington's non-discriminatory policy states that it "is committed as a matter of principle to providing equality of opportunity to all members of the University community"; and

WHEREAS, there are only five locations of baby changing stations on campus; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT, each building on campus have at least one baby changing station; and

THAT, a map of all baby changing stations be both posted online and distributed to faculty, staff and students with children; and

THAT, every new or renovated building have at least one baby changing station; and

THAT, this legislation be distributed to all applicable departments.
