A Resolution in Support of a University of Washington Nap Room

WHEREAS many college students are sleep deprived, and;

WHEREAS even a 20 minute nap has been proven to increase efficiency and alertness, and;

WHEREAS companies and other colleges have implemented or will implement nap rooms, and;

WHEREAS University of Washington Professors Nate Watson (Assistant Professor of Neurobiology and Co-Director of UW Sleep Disorders Center), Edward Weaver (Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology), and Michael Vitiello (Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences) already support and advise a University of Washington pilot nap room and the eventual creation of a permament University of Washington nap room(s,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON:

THAT the ASUW supports a pilot nap room at the University of Washington, and;

THAT the ASUW supports the evenutal creation of a nap room(s) at the University of Washington.
